+Very relaxing place, no loud music, just sound of sea and birds. + Very nice type of guests, friendly, focused on relaxation. + Extraordinary staff. Attentive. Always helpful, to the point I was under the impression they could read my mind. I would sit on the beach and think "hmm I would eat something," and a few seconds later, a staff member would stand next to me, asking if I would like to have some fruit:) + We didn't really like lunch menu, but one of the ladies from the staff would treat us like mother treats her daughters and offer something outside the menu, we wanted to try only Thai food and she made sure we could do it, she always recommended us nice Thai soups:) Also other staff members would take our food preferences into consideration. + The room was comfortable, enough space to unpack. + They even provided drinking water to brush the teeth. + The landscape makes you feel very relaxed, a lot of open space, not crowded with guests. Enough sun beds. + Amaizing massages at Spa and very personal approach, I booked a second massage which was designed specifically for my health problem. The massage was truly healing. + Gluten free, home made, bread. + Very nice, long, beach. + Good location to explore the island. + Next to the street with shops, but hotel is not noisy. + Security guards doing their job very well. Always watching if someone from outside is not enetering the property. + We felt very comfortable there and I would happily come back by myself, as it felt very safe and homey.

Summary (9/10) We loved our beach villa stay in Layana Resort and will 100% be back, particularly due to the service Room & Facilities (9/10) We were in one of the property’s three beach villas, which are well worth the extra spend. The bedroom opens out to a private terrace with beautiful beach sunset views. The outdoor rain shower is a wonderful experience. Villas have reserved sunbeds directly in front of them so no morning rush to occupy beds, although there are plenty to go around in any case across both pools (sea water and fresh water) and the beach. Beach is pristine, coral white sand. We did not have time to use the spa as we were diving but it had a broad offering. Generally massages are great value across the island so we’d only really use it if going for a specialised treatment. Restaurant & Bar (7.5/10) There is only one restaurant in the resort, which is set on the beach side. Breakfast was great and offered decent variety. While at breakfast seating is first come, first served (we were up early for diving so no problems) but would recommend reserving dinner tables if you want to be in the first line by the beach. Dinner was generally good (a couple of dishes too garlicky for our taste) and the restaurant offers both local and “Mediterranean” dishes. Expensive (very) versus other offerings on the island, which is probably expected given it’s a 5-star hotel. We saw a couple have a private beach dinner arranged, which looked very romantic for a special occasion. Bar had some creative and well-presented cocktails with a happy hour during sunset. Service (10/10) Personalised service which you only get in boutique hotels with nothing being too big an ask (arranged onward transfer, gave back our scooter rental as we ran out of time, put us in touch with a great diving school “Dive and Relax”). Staff are extremely polite and welcoming.

Superb location right on a fantastic beach. Calm and quiet pool areas (no loud children) and effectively a private beach. Truly excellent service, including constant refilling of chilled water to sunbed dwellers. Magic sunset. Very nice rooms with comfortable beds.

I mean…there are no words to describe this hotel on long beach. The level of service, the high standards, the hospitality and the care that you get, is definitely not thai standards. We enjoyed this place so much. The food in each restaurant is fantastic, the staff went above and beyond to provide everything we needed, from transportation to room change. (Franck the hotel manager is a standup guy. Made sure to welcome us when we arrived and say goodbye when we left) The facilities are well taken care of! But what stands out more is the quietness and calm!! No children, no noises…just peaceful and calm. I would definitely come back again.

Beautiful hotel right next to the beach. The resort with its three pools is really photogenic and the beach right in front of it is one of the best kept ans cleanest ones I have seen in Thailand so far. The service is spotless and the staff are really helpful and friendly. The SPA treatments are also exceptional. We really enjoyed our stay here and will certainly be back!
